DERMOT O’Leary has been getting tips on becoming a top author from pal David Walliams.

The X Factor host has followed the BGT judge by publishing two stories about Toto the Ninja Cat.

And Dermot told how the comedian has been secretly helping him.

He said: “David is a legend in this field. He’s a veteran and has been really sweet.

“I sent my second book to him, and he said he really enjoyed it.

“I got a lovely tweet saying, ‘That b**tard’s done it again.”

David has sold more than 25million copies of his books and they have been translated into 53 different languages.

His stories The Boy In The Dress, Mr Stink, Billionaire Boy and Gangsta Granny have all been adapted for TV.

But Dermot warned: “David better watch out.”
