HS2 to be delay-free
DELAYS will not exist on the high-speed railway HS2 when it opens in 2026, the firm building it claims.
Video, lasers and acoustic sensors will be fitted to trains to assess the condition of rails and overhead power cables.
Engineers will be able to identify problems and do maintenance before a fault affects punctuality.
A spokesman for HS2 Ltd said late trains will be “a thing of the past”.
