Clarke taken to hospital after collapsing in the dugout

LEEDS teenager Jack Clarke was taken to hospital during yesterday’s game after collapsing in the dugout.

He was substitute­d at half-time, a decision not related to his subsequent illness.

The winger (right) then appeared to collapse and was given oxygen by medics before being stretchere­d to an ambulance. Clarke, 18, was fully conscious when he arrived at James Cook University Hospital where a series of assessment­s were undertaken and he was kept in overnight for further tests.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa played down the incident which led to a seven-minute stoppage.
