Josh fights Covid in 3D

A WINNER of the “X Factor for science” is helping Africa combat Covid-19.

Since claiming the top prize at the 2018 Big Bang Fair for his 3D printer design, Josh Mitchell has taken it worldwide.

But instead of using his invention to just make face masks and sell them, the student, 20, is shipping out printers themselves.

Josh, from Goostrey, Cheshire, said: “There are also a lot of interesting things we can print to help out. African hospitals likely won’t be as well-stocked as Western ones, so there are thousands of potential uses for it.”
