THE DONALD’S NOT DUCKING CONTROVERSY

Trump’s 1st dramatic month

- News@ws@dailystar.co.uk

PRESIDENT Trump did not hang around in his first week.

Just hours after taking the Oath of Office, he signed an executive order on the Affordable Care Act.

It was the first steps to dismantle Obamacare. Trump’s administration then accused the media of lying about the size of the inauguration crowd.

Sean Spicer, the White House spokesperson, produced Washington train figures, which were later proved to be inaccurate.

One of Trump’s key aides, Kellyanne Conway defended Spicer’s claims by stating he was merely using “alternative facts”.

Trump followed up with another executive order, pulling the United States out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal.

In his first week, he ordered construction of the wall between the US and Mexico and also increased the number of border patrol agents.

Prime Minister Theresa May was the first foreign leader to visit him

But Mr Trump’s most controversial move is yet to be resolved. He signed an executive order to prevent people from seven mainly-Muslim countries from entering the US. But the Supreme Court froze his plans. Kellyanne Conway potentially violated government ethics rules when she urged people to buy Ivanka’s clothing and jewellery line. Trump accused Nortstrom, the upmarket department store, of treating his daughter “unfairly” after they pulled her products off the shelves. He has claimed that his administration is “running like a finetuned machine”. But Michael Flynn, Trump’s national security adviser, stepped down after less than a month after misleading Vice-President Mike Pence about contacts with Russia. A third of Brits have been put off holidaying in the US because of Trump’s actions. STORMY: Trump in action
