Uni kids now owe £100bn
STUDENT loan debt in the UK has soared to over £100billion for the first time.
Youngsters are being swamped by fees which were hiked to £9,000 a year in 2012.
And from this year the bills for studying are set to rise in line with inflation.
Experts now warn that the total bill could double to £200bn over the next six years.
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn pledged to axe fees for students.
