New Zealand U-20s 64 England U-20s 17
ENGLAND suffered heartbreak as they were thrashed by New Zealand in the Under-20s Rugby World Championship Final in Georgia.
Ian Vass’ side conceded an astonishing 10 tries.
Dalton Papali’i and Pouri Rakete-Stones went over early for the Baby Blacks before Ben Earl’s converted effort made it just 12-7 midway through the first half.
But New Zealand blew sorry England away after that. Asafo Aumua (two), Isaia Walker-Leawere and Luke Jacobson touched down to make it 40-7 at the break.
And Josh McKay, Tom Christie, Jacobson and Aumua added further tries in the second half, the latter completing his hat-trick.
Alex Mitchell and Josh Bayliss replied for England.
