A LITTLE girl orphaned in a horror M1 crash that killed eight people is recovering well in hospital, her family say.

Shravathi Ramasubramanian, five, was found trapped underneath a chair in a minibus flattened by two lorries on Saturday morning.

Her father Karthikeyan and mother Lavanya were among those killed.

The youngster had been in intensive care but her brokenhearted grandmother revealed yesterday that she was now “out of danger”. Gran Malti said: ® “Shravathi is out of danger but she is heavily sedated as the wounds are still fresh.

“We only hope that she heals quickly. We do not know the future plan yet. We will see where Shravathi will live. We are yet to believe that our daughter and son-in-law are no more.”

The family were travelling in the early hours to catch a Eurostar train to France for a holiday.

Relatives from India have flown to her bedside at Birmingham Children’s hospital.
