WHAT’S HOT TO WATCH TODAY
JUST so we’re clear about this, scrawling pics of rude body parts on the back of a dirty van is not funny. It’s bad. Very bad indeed. And that’s official.
We know this thanks to episode one of EDUCATING GREATER
MANCHESTER (9pm), Channel 4’s latest fly-on-the-classroomwall series, because Mr Povey, headteacher at Harrop Fold School in Salford, gets very cross about it, bawling out a bunch of kids who’ve done that very thing.
Bawling them out once he’s composed himself, that is, to make sure he can keep a straight face.
“Do you have any idea what those people are going to be thinking of this school?!” he barks at the culprits hauled into his office.
To be honest, people are still going to be thinking a whole lot more of Mr Povey’s school than they’d have done some years back, he and his staff having done an impressive job of turning around what was once considered among the worst educational establishments in Britain.
But the place still has its challenges, especially integrating students who’ve come to these shores from far and wide. Mind you, it’s actually shy 11-year-old Rani from Syria – still struggling to grasp English – who’s kicked off the rude stuff on the van, scrawling a popular four-letter word he’s obviously learnt quite recently. Admittedly, he spells it wrong, but 10 out of 10 for effort. IN this week’s CELEB TROLLS: WE’RE COMING
TO GET YOU (10pm, Channel 5), Frankie Bridge and the team take up the case of former X Factor finalist Chloe Jamsine, tracking down the freak who’s given her shocking grief online.
