Knife-hand Freddys in jail threat
FANCY DRESS IS NO EXCUSE
HALLOWEEN revellers wear ing Freddy Krueger knife gloves face jail.
The threatening clawed handwear has a blade sticking out of each finger and is being sold online for between £72 and £185.
Barrister Nigel Booth said carrying a blade can lead to a six-month sentence and fancy dress could be a “flimsy” defence in court.
He added: “You could easily find yourself on the wrong end of a possession charge if there is alcohol consumed or if you get drawn into an argument, for example.
“Your fancy dress defence may turn out to be very flimsy and you could end up at risk of conviction.”
A Freddy Krueger-style glove was handed in to police recently as part of a knife amnesty.
The weapon was dropped off at Uxbridge police station in London last month.
Nightmare On Elm Street movies were classic 1980s horror flicks where Freddy preyed on teenagers in their dreams.
