MY ex-lover still has loads of my stuff – clothes, shoes and expensive handbags – and won’t give it back.

If I want it, then I have to go round and get it. He thinks he can get me drunk on champagne and reel me in. But I’m done with his controlling behaviour and don’t ever want to resume our relationship. I’m frustrated and scared and feel he’s holding me to ransom.

Speak to those who care about you. Can someone else reason with your ex on your behalf? Could he take your gear to a neutral spot such as a friend’s place? He has to understand you’ve moved on. If he still won’t co-operate, then do you have to go to the police or a solicitor?
