UN DE SCEAUX is being lined up for a potential clash with Altior in the Betfair Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown in December.

The Willie Mullins-trained nine-year-old, right, won the two-mile event last year before going on to win the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

And connections are looking at the exciting prospect of taking on Nicky Henderson’s unbeaten chaser Altior, winner of the Arkle Trophy at Cheltenham and the Celebration Chase at Sandown, on December 9.

Colm O’Connell, son of the owner, said: “Un De Sceaux is in great form. He had a great summer and looks a million dollars.

“Last year he went to the Tingle Creek, the Clarence House and the Ryanair. I suppose the Clarence House would be pretty high on our agenda again as he’s won it the last two years and no horse has ever won it three times.

“It would be nice to see him defend his crown in the Tingle Creek. He’d probably be up against Altior, who looks a superstar, but Un De Sceaux on soft ground around places like Sandown and Ascot takes a bit of beating.”
