TV time could kill

-

WATCHING too much TV almost doubles the risk of a potentially deadly blood clot forming.

They can develop in the veins of the legs, arms, pelvis or lungs when people sit still for too long.

The clots can cut off blood flow in the lungs, leading to sudden death.

Prof Mary Cushman, of the University of Vermont in the US, said: “Watching TV itself isn’t bad, but we tend to snack and sit still for prolonged periods.”
