CITIZEN ASSANGE
WIKILEAKS chief Julian Assange has been granted Ecuadorian citizenship.
The move comes five-and-a-half years after the Australian was given political asylum in the country’s London embassy.
A string of sex assault claims had forced him into hiding.
Ecuador’s foreign minister, Maria Fernanda Espinosa, said last night that the Wikileaks founder will not leave the embassy without “security guarantees”.
