£1bn fee misery

TOURISTS are being overcharged £1.15bn annually in a Wild West of foreign exchange rates.

In the worst cases some can end up paying an extra £200 on a £2,500 exchange.

They are being hit with hidden fees, commissions, transaction charges and mark-ups before the cash actually reaches their pockets, says a joint study by the University of Wolverhampton and Travel Money Club.
