Morgan fit for lead role
EOIN MORGAN will be fit to skipper England in the one-day internationals against Australia despite a broken finger.
Morgan has pulled out of captaining the World XI in tomorrow’s T20 clash with West Indies at Lord’s – but will be ready when FIGHTING BACK: Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad (above) practise yesterday England start their ODI schedule against Scotland on June 10.
Morgan said: “I have a small fracture in the ring finger of my right hand.
“It’s disappointing but it’s not the worst news that could have come through.
“It’s a week to 10 days to get the swelling down in the finger and then protect it as we go on. So it’s a relief that I’ll be ready, yes.”
Sam Billings comes in for the rested Jos Buttler for the game against Scotland, while Tom Curran will be added to the squad to face the Aussies. SQUAD: v Scotland, v Australia,
