Bank is getting no credit

A PENSIONER was told his bank had recovered some of the £20,000 scammers stole from his account – just £5.14 of it.

Lib Dem councillor John Sutherington said he laughed when he saw the letter from Santander.

The 69-year-old said: “I thought, ‘That’s great. Now any chance of getting back the other £19,994.86?’ It’s a bit of a joke and it rubs salt in the wound.”

Santander admitted they could have saved another £2,021.07 had they picked up on the fraud when the OAP, of Anstey, Leics, called them not long after it happened.
