‘ROMP FOR BURGERS’ FURY

BURGER King has apologised for offering a lifetime supply of their Whoppers to Russian women who fell pregnant to World Cup stars.
The fast food chain launched the deal on VK, a regional alternative to Facebook, promising around £36,000 and the free burgers to “girls who manage to get the best football genes”.
It hoped the offer would “ensure the success of the Russian team for generations”. Critics branded the promotion sexist and demeaning and it was later pulled from Burger King’s social media accounts.
The company said: “We are sorry about the clearly offensive promotion that the team in Russia launched online. We are taking steps to ensure this never happens again.”
