- By JEREMY CROSS

BRAZILIAN ace Fred says he has joined the biggest club in the world after completing his move to Manchester United.

The Old Trafford outfit have landed the Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder in a £47m deal that will rise above the

£50m mark with add-ons.

Fred, who is currently part of the Brazilian World Cup squad in Russia, has agreed a five-year deal worth

£175,000-a-week.

The 25-year-old has won a number of club honours – including three league titles in Ukraine. And he is relishing the chance to help United become Premier League champions again.

He wasted no time taking a swipe at neighbours Manchester City by insisting his new club are still bigger than them.

He said: “This is the biggest club in the world and I am delighted to be a part of this amazing team.

“To work with Jose Mourinho, who has won so many trophies in his time as a coach, is an opportunity not to be missed.

“I cannot wait to get started and to meet my new team-mates. I would like to thank everyone at Shakhtar Donetsk for everything they have done for me over the past five years.

“This is a very exciting time for me with my focus now fully on the World Cup with Brazil.”

United boss Mourinho, who targeted Fred to replace the retired Michael Carrick, said: “Fred is the complement we need in our midfield.

“His creative brain and passing vision will give us another dimension to our game.

“I am very happy he is joining and I believe our players know how important he can be in our team.”
