Judge’s fracking backing

Daily Star - - NEWS -

GAS giant Cuadrilla was starting fracking work today despite huge opposition from protesters.

The High Court threw out an attempt by a campaigner to gain an injunction against the operation near Blackpool.

At a hearing in London yesterday, Mr Justice Supperstone dismissed Bob Dennett’s application to stop the company fracking the UK’s first shale gas deposits.

Mr Dennett claimed Lancashire County Council had not put together an emergency plan in case of leaks.

But the judge ruled that there was not a “serious issue” that would justify halting the operation.
