CAFE BOSS ARREST
PATISSERIE Valerie’s finance chief has been arrested just days after a £20million black hole was found in the cafe chain’s finances. Chris Marsh, who had been suspended by the company, was taken in by police but has since been released under investigation.
The Serious Fraud Office said it had “opened a criminal investigation into an individual”. Patisserie Holdings chairman Luke Johnson is now offering up to £20m in loans in an effort to keep the company afloat.
Meanwhile, American Golf looks set to close 20 stores across the UK and Ireland after it went into administration. As part of a deal with buyout investor Endless, 112 of the golf retailer’s shops will stay open.
