Police defend wanted ‘Dumbo’

-

MOCKED: The suspect POLICE defended a wanted man’s human rights after they posted his photo online and he was mocked over his hair and big ears.

Officers had to switch from pleading with the public to look out for Emilio Romana to begging them to be “respectful”.

They reacted after more than 400 social media jibes about his haircut.

Cops posted the mugshot on social media because they want to speak to him about a burglary in Hull on February 6.

One user likened him to Dumbo the elephant while another jibed: “Probably sat at home watching Sky with the fantastic satellite connection he’s getting from those ears.”

Another advised police “Please find him before further infringement.”

A fourth said: “Who cut his hair? .... the council?”

Police posted: “Whilst we encourage participation on our posts please keep it respectful. Thank you.”

Some Facebook users agreed with Humberside Police’s request, with one posting: “Can we have some sensible comments cos if he is a suspect in a house burglary then any comments really don’t help the police.”
