MAN DENIES 3 LIONS CHARGE

A FOOTBALL fan accused of dancing on an ambulance in a “Gareth Southgate waistcoat” during World Cup celebrations will stand trial for criminal damage.

James Elton, 27, is allegedly one of a group caught on camera climbing on the rapid response ambulance car after England’s 2-0 victory over Sweden last summer. Much damage was caused to the bonnet and windscreen of the vehicle while parked near Borough Market, London, a court heard.

Elton, from West Hampstead, north-west London, appeared at Inner London Crown Court and denied damaging property. He is due to stand trial with three others on June 24 and was granted unconditional bail.
