Non-EU sales hit £376bn
UK exports to non-EU countries have grown five times faster than to those within the bloc, official figures show.
Sales to non-EU countries rose by 6.3% to £376.7bn in the year ending in September.
Those to the EU grew 1.3% to £296.8bn, the Office for National Statistics revealed.
International Trade Secretary Liz Truss said: “My priority is to strike new trade deals with key partners and to open up new markets to British products.”
Trade with the US rose by 11.4% to £133.7bn over the year, and trade with Japan grew by 7.6% to £14.8bn.
