Cabernet fruit
This is used as shorthand to describe the typical aromas and flavours you would expect from the Cabernet Sauvignon and/or Cabernet Franc grape. These include varied herbaceous notes and red/black fruits, depending on where the grape is grown. In a Bordeaux context, blackcurrant and blackcurrant leaf are usually the dominant fruit characteristics. If the wine is oaked, typical aromas/ flavours would include cedar, cigar box or tobacco.
