My top three

Christine Parkinson

Adega Algueira, Merenzao, Ribeira Sacra 2014

Ribeira Sacra has been overlooked for too long, but for me it was the standout region of the tasting. This wine was delightfully refreshing and supple. 95 Drink 2017-2021

Señorío de Rubiós, Manuel d’Amaro Pedral, Rías Baixas 2015

This lovely wine’s ‘Atlantic style’ was vivid yet delicate, lithe, perfumed and refreshingly juicy. I suspect it would work very well served cool. 91 Drink 2017-2021

Bodega Vidas, Vides y Vinos, Cien Montañas Carrasquín, Cangas 2015

Wines from the steep, terraced slopes of Cangas, in Asturias, were a real find for me. This Carrasquín had effortless charm, fresh as a mountain breeze: somewhere between a red Sancerre and good young Beaujolais in style. 90 Drink 2018-2019
