Doña Paula 1100 red blend

This wine is a great example of one of the new red blends that demonstrate terroir rather than a specific varietal. Made from 60% Malbec, 30% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon the name makes reference to the altitude of the Los Indios vineyards from which the grapes are sourced, 1100 metres above sea level in this instance. This wine has violet and rosehip aromas which are typical of the Malbec variety, with the Syrah contributing spicy notes and silky tannins and the Cabernet complementing the blend with great structure.
