Want to help scientists investigate microplastic pollution on Devon’s beaches? Then the Big Microplastic Survey wants to hear from you. Scientists at the University of Portsmouth want people to sift through sand as part of a global project to gather data. In September Environment Agency staff got involved, surveying 22 North Devon and Cornwall beaches in one day.
The method takes between 30 to 60 minutes to complete, so anyone visiting a beach can take part. Learn more at microplasticsurvey.org
