Coal tits are very agile lit­tle birds and rarely stop mov­ing, so they cer­tainly won’t hang around while you com­pose a shot. Pre­fo­cus­ing en­ables you to frame the scene in ad­vance so that you can re­lease the shut­ter as soon as the bird lands. to achieve this, use the AF point se­lec­tion to man­u­ally se­lect a sin­gle AF point, po­si­tioned over the wooden peg.

For this tech­nique to work suc­cess­fully the key el­e­ments must oc­cupy the same fo­cal plane.
