Broken dream

Digital SLR Photography - - Expert Critique - by Arnaud Ballay

Nikon D610 with AF- S 24- 120mm f/ 4 VR lens. Exposure: Exposures of two, ten and 45 seconds at f/ 22 ( ISO 400). What we think: Arnaud's composition is spot on – the broken walkway is interesting, and leads the viewer through the frame, converging on the sun whilst contrasting with the blurred water. A nice balance of two- thirds foreground to one- third sky works well too, as does the vertical crop. There is, however, some loss of sharpness due to ghosting between bracketed exposures. Arnaud tells us that he used the LR Enfuse plug- in to create the HDR, and this isn't the first time we've heard of ghosting issues with this particular software. Why it works 1) Great composition 2) HDR handled well, bar the slight ghosting 3) Interesting walkway works as lead- in line
