HOMOPHOBIC ATTACK IN PORTSMOUTH
A group of gay women on a night out in Portsmouth were attacked by a gang of men. The women, aged between 23 and 32, were enjoying an evening out at the Blue Anchor pub. They left in high spirits singing I’m In The Mood For Dancing, before a group of men started shouting homophobic abuse at them. One woman was punched so hard, seven of her teeth fell out and her jaw was fractured. Another woman was left “bleeding and fitting” and a third was terrified she would be killed. The women, who prefer not to be identified, spoke to Portsmouth newspaper The News in an effort to bring the men to justice. Although several men were arrested in connection with the incident, they have now all been released.
