This month we’re celebrating London’s Night Czar who, along with Mayor Sadiq Khan, has pledged to preserve and protect the capital’s LGBT venues. More than half of the city’s queer spaces have vanished in the last 10 years, with lesbian bars among the worst affected, according to a new report. Lamé, who co-founded iconic night Duckie, described the situation as “completely and totally unacceptable”, and has promised to make protecting these venues a priority in her role. She said: “It’s important for us that we are able to retain our culture, that we are able to retain our identity where we have safe places where we can fully express ourselves, be exactly who we want to be.” Bravo, Amy! We’re with you every step of the way.
