Locker­bie half bred gim­mers and ewe lambs

Har­ri­son & Hether­ing­ton held their an­nual sale of half bred shear­ling gim­mers and ewe lambs at Locker­bie Mart on Tues­day, Au­gust 29.

Top­ping the sale at £155 was a pen of 20 strong ewe lambs from Messrs Arm­strong, High Moat, Long­town, and were pur­chased by Messrs P Mc­Don­ald, Pheas­ants Nest Farm, Buck­ing­hamshire. Messrs Arm­strong sold a fur­ther 6 pens sell­ing over £110, this good run went on to av­er­age £112.22.

Messrs J Strawhorn & Son, An­n­field con­sign­ment of ewe lambs peaked at £140, and were pur­chased by Mr Philip Madg­wick, Peters­field.

The over­all sale av­er­aged £6 up on the year and more could have been eas­ily sold due to a full ring­side of buy­ers in at­ten­dance.
