South of Scot­land League: New­ton Ste­wart 0 Th­reave Rovers 3; St Cuth­bert Wan­der­ers 7 Niths­dale Wan­der­ers 0.

On Wed­nes­day night the two Ste­wartry clubs Th­reave Rovers and St Cuth­bert Wan­der­ers hit form when be­tween them they scored 10 goals with­out any in re­turn.

Fol­low­ing a poor start to the sea­son by both clubs’ pre­vi­ous high stan­dards, they now look to be com­ing good and forces to be reck­oned with in South foot­ball.

Blair Dougan scored a hat-trick for Saints with Joe McMil­lan, Ross Hunter and Ben Jaekel also on tar­get, the other goal be­ing an own goal.

A Ro­man Soltys dou­ble and a sin­gle from Dan Thom was enough for Th­reave to sink New­ton Ste­wart at Blair­mount Park to take the three points. Fix­ture, tonight : South Re­gional Chal­lenge Cup, round 1: Lochmaben FC v Up­per An­nan­dale, kick-off 7:30pm Queen of the South wel­come Mor­ton to Palmer­ston Park this week as they aim to con­tinue their fine start to the sea­son.

The keeper and the club have reached a “mu­tual” agree­ment and he has now left Palmer­ston.

Robin­son, 31, has had three spells at Palmer­ston which in­cluded a Chal­lenge Cup win over Partick This­tle.

An­nan Ath­letic wel­come Sten­house­muir to Gal­a­bank this week.
