The Fever will be hot stuff

Trio ready to play in Dumfries

Dumfries & Galloway Standard - - THE WEEKEND TICKET -

The temperature will be rising at the Theatre Royal in Dumfries tonight when The Fever take to the stage.

In their first visit to the venue, this trio with a real vintage vibe will be performing a range of songs from genres including jazz and blues, made famous by Ella Fitzgerald, Fats Waller, Imelda May and Joe Bonamassa.

The band features the talents of experienced musicians Andy McMillan, from Dumfries, plus Doug Carroll and Mary Barclay from Dalbeattie.

Having played a major part in Dumfries and Galloway’s music scene for many years, Andy, Doug and Mary formed The Fever last year.

Since then, they have many prestigious gigs already under their belt and more to come, including an appearance at Callander Jazz and Blues Festival.

Andy provides a full- bodied groove on his double bass with Doug showing flair and expertise on his jazz guitar.

Mary’s voice is dynamic, warm and rich – perfectly suited to the chosen material.
