Dumfries & Galloway Standard - - READER TRAVEL -

Five members of ADAC seniors took part in the 33 mile Glen Ogle Ultra Race recently.

The race starts and finishes at Killin and the weather was cold with sunshine and showers for most of the day. More than 500 runners took part in what is now becoming one of Scotland’s favourite ultra runs.

The race takes in Killin, Balquidder, Lochernhead and Strathyre as well as the Glen Ogle Viaduct with stunning scenery.

The run is mostly trail and road but there are 2800 feet of ascent throughout the race so it is not for the faint hearted.

Although the official times have still to be confirmed, first home out of the ADAC runners was John Cowan in 5 hrs 25 mins. John Murphy who was doing his first ever Ultra run was next home in a terrific time of 5 hrs 41 mins. Louise Hopper, who
