Annan Athletic head to in-form Montrose tomorrow hoping to keep up their impressive away form.

The Angus side have won four on the bounce in League Two but Peter Murphy’s Galabank outfit have picked up nine of their 14 points this season on the road.

Wins at Elgin City, Edinburgh City and Berwick Rangers have certainly boosted the Black and Gold’s points tally this term. They drew 0-0 at home to the latter last weekend to leave them seventh in the table, comfortably ahead of the bottom three, but five points off the final play-off spot currently occupied by Stenhousemuir.

Murphy said: “We have been fairly good away from home this season. The last time we met the game was settled by a set-piece. Both teams are defensively-minded so it could be a tight game again.

“We drew 0-0 last week and should have taken one of our opportunities in the first half and perhaps taken all three points. It’s time to start taking those chances.”

Annan have injury worries over ex-Queens duo Dan Orsi and Owen Moxon.
