Doorstep at­tack

A man was at­tacked at his Langholm home by four oth­ers in the early hours of Sun­day.

The 22-year-old vic­tim was set upon when he an­swered the door to his house at Sta­tion Build­ings at 4.55am.

The four punched him on the head and body be­fore he was able to close the door and phone the po­lice.

He suf­fered two black eyes and cuts and bruis­ing to his face and body.

Po­lice are car­ry­ing out door to door enquiries in a bid to trace the thugs.

The first is de­scribed as be­ing around six feet tall, of podgy build, in his mid to late 30s.

He had light brown hair cut short and a goa­tee beard and he was wear­ing a black water­proof jacket which had a white logo on the front and dark jeans.

The sec­ond man was about six feet tall and of skinny/slim build with sharp fa­cial fea­tures and light brown/blonde hair.

He was in his late 20s/early 30s, and was wear­ing a grey/white hooded top with the hood up.

The third and fourth men were only de­scribed as be­ing in their 30s and wear­ing hooded tops.

Con­sta­ble An­thony Pal­lent said: “We are un­sure as to the mo­tive for this vi­cious and sus­tained at­tack on the vic­tim at the front door to his home. We know that four men were present.
