Dumfries & Galloway Standard - - DISTRICT NEWS -

Specsavers Dumfries really got into the spirit of Hallowe’en when they held three spooky themed activities throughout October.

Youngsters counted jars of rubber spiders and eyeballs and drew colourful witch designs.

Darah Monaghan submitted the closest guess for count the spiders and Verity Platt correctly guessed the number of eyeballs in the jar. Joshua Hall was the third and final winner for his superb witch design entry.

The vampire and dispensing optician, Corrie Widdowson, presented two of the three winners with a Waterstones gift voucher in store recently.

Jill Dickson, store director, said: “It was great to get involved with the fun of Hallowe’en and host some in store events for our young visitors. We raised £70 from the small donations customers made to each competition guess which we will donate to Guide Dogs. Thanks to everyone who took part and congratulations to our three winners.”
