Students pass library training

Dumfries & Galloway Standard - - SCHOOL NEWS -

Annan Academy is celebrating the success of 11 pupils from across the school classes who have succeeded in completing their library assistant training.

Over six months they have learned what it takes to run the library from classification to processing at the desk and from choosing new books and preparing them for loans, as well as customer service skills.

Staff have been delighted with how the talented pupils have shown commitment, always been on time for their weekly shifts and their incredible imaginations which led to them creating an amazing Harry Potter themed staircase display.

Third year pupils Katie Morrison and Hayden Shaw went one step further. As returning library assistants they completed a whole different skill set and achieved student librarian status through their supervision and training of the younger assistants and their ability to solely manage the desk.
