Glen­caple SWI pres­i­dent Cather­ine Hain­ing wel­comed mem­bers to the Fe­bru­ary meet­ing.

The planned speaker had been un­able to at­tend but the Rev Bill Hol­land stepped in at the last mo­ment.

He gave an en­joy­able and in­for­ma­tive talk about the old streets and closes of Dum­fries, ac­com­pa­nied by in­ter­est­ing pho­to­graphs.

Mem­bers en­joyed rem­i­nisc­ing about old Dum­fries and vowed to look with new eyes at the closes in fu­ture. Mar­garet Irv­ing gave a vote of thanks.
