Bright new era for Honda firm
Grierson and Graham open new showroom
Last weekend saw the grand opening of Grierson and Graham’s brand new, purpose built car dealership.
The event saw hundreds of friends, business associates and customers, old and new, come in to be shown around the state-of-the-art facility.
Grierson and Graham can trace their roots back over 100 years and have an equally long reputation for excellent service and genuine customer care.
They are also the longest continuous Honda dealer in the whole of the UK having started importing Honda motorcycles from Japan even before Honda UK existed and then taking on their cars in the 70s.
Directors David Graham and Mark Harris are the fourth generation of the family business and some of the staff have worked there for 50 years.
“When it comes to experience we feel we have more than any other dealer and now we have the facilities to deliver the best service possible,” said David.
Mark added: “We took the decision to build a brand new dealership over two years ago and have planned it meticulously to enable us to grow in future, without being extravagant.”
Building work started in April, 2017, with local firm David Hardie as the main contractor and numerous other local sub-contractors.
Mark said: “It was important to us to support local businesses with the work and we are delighted to say they have done a great job.”
Over the opening weekend Grierson and Graham displayed Honda’s flagship supercar, the NSX, in the new showroom. The £150,000 dream car is capable of 0-60 in 2.9 seconds using a 3.0V6 and 3 electric motors and attracted many admiring eyes.
Perhaps not as glamorous but equally impressive they also had the very latest version of their ever popular Honda Jazz which many customers were more interested in.
Visitors were given a tour of the dealership and although impressed by the showroom many were astounded by the new workshop which is three times bigger than the old one. It boasts all new equipment including an MOT station and tyre fitting equipment. One customer commented: “It is more like a laboratory than a workshop.”
Mark said: “Many people thought we were just building a new showroom but we are particularly proud of the new aftersales facilities. They will enable us to give customers the best service in the quickest time possible.”
Although the new building has been up and running for a month it wasn’t until the old building was taken down and the frontage landscaped that the full effect of the project was realised.
The building acts as a futuristic backdrop to the cleanly finished yard with ample customer parking and their entire used car display out front, clear to see to passing traffic.
Mark added: “We are delighted with the result and would like to thank everyone for their compliments and kind words of support.
“We’d also like to thank all our customers for their patience during the project and rest assured that we are back to business as usual.”
Grierson and Graham’s opening event continues until March 31 with special offers such as 0% finance, up to £3,000 discount and £599 for five years servicing.
