A wo­man who punched a man on the head has had her sen­tence at Dum­fries Sher­iff Court de­ferred for back­ground re­ports.

Donna Robert­son, 37, of Mill­bank Place, Pen­pont, ad­mit­ted com­mit­ting the as­sault on Septem­ber 9.

Fis­cal de­pute Jen­nifer McGill said the in­ci­dent fol­lowed drinks at a friend’s house and po­lice were called by a neigh­bour.

A so­lic­i­tor said that Robert­son had no mem­ory of the in­ci­dent.

The case was con­tin­ued to Oc­to­ber 3.

■ A 21-year-old man ac­cused of at­tempt­ing to butt a po­lice of­fi­cer with his head is to face trial at Dum­fries Sher­iff Court.

Josh Adams, of Sum­merville Av­enue, Dum­fries, pleaded not guilty to com­mit­ting the as­sault and at­tempt­ing to bite the con­sta­ble at the Lore­burn Street Po­lice Sta­tion at the week­end.

Trial was set for De­cem­ber and sen­tence was de­ferred on a fur­ther charge which he ad­mit­ted of be­hav­ing in a threat­en­ing man­ner at Church Street and mak­ing threats of vi­o­lence.

■ A man has been banned by a sher­iff from en­ter­ing a Dum­fries store for three months. Jamie Rae, 26, of Dal­swin­ton Av­enue, Dum­fries, was found guilty of re­peat­edly push­ing a man at the Su­per­store at Lin­clu­den Road in the town in Jan­uary. He was also fined £200.

■ A 45-year-old drinkdriver has had his sen­tence de­ferred for back­ground re­ports.

Branislav Misura, from Liv­ingston, pleaded guilty to com­mit­ting the of­fence in King Street in Dum­fries in April. The read­ing was 28 mi­cro­grammes against the limit of 22.

Sher­iff Ger­ard McMil­lan at Dum­fries pointed out that Misura had a pre­vi­ous con­vic­tion for be­ing in charge of a ve­hi­cle while over the limit and called for a back­ground re­port.

The case was con­tin­ued to Oc­to­ber 3.

■ Back­ground re­ports have been or­dered by the sher­iff at Dum­fries on a 32-year-old man on a charge of be­hav­ing in a threat­en­ing man­ner to­wards an ex-part­ner.

Danny Gra­ham, of Bal­later Av­enue, Dum­fries, ad­mit­ted shout­ing and swear­ing and strug­gling with the wo­man at Os­borne Cres­cent in the town in April. Sen­tence was de­ferred to Oc­to­ber 3.

■ A 45-year-old wo­man who strug­gled with an­other at her home has had her sen­tence at Dum­fries Sher­iff Court de­ferred for six months and warned to be of good be­hav­iour.

Ruby Mitchell, of Law­bank Drive, Dum­fries, ad­mit­ted com­mit­ting a breach of the peace at her home a year ago.

■ A 44-year-old man who breached a bail con­di­tion for­bid­ding him to con­tact a wo­man has been jailed for 40 days at Dum­fries Sher­iff Court.

Steven Kelly, from Lochans, Stran­raer, ad­mit­ted that af­ter be­ing placed on bail on Septem­ber 4, he met the wo­man at Mafek­ing Place in An­nan.

■ A 35-year-old man is to face trial on a charge of as­sault­ing his ex-part­ner.

Craig Wylie, of Sy­camore Drive, Long­town, pleaded not guilty at Dum­fries Sher­iff Court to punch­ing her on the head on Septem­ber 6 at Aldery Ter­race, Canon­bie.

Trial was set for Novem­ber and sen­tenced de­ferred on a fur­ther charge of be­hav­ing in a threat­en­ing man­ner at Canon­bie and Dum­fries Po­lice Sta­tion, shout­ing and swear­ing and mak­ing threats.
