Members of Brownhall SWI met for the first meeting of the new session.
President Mrs Wingate welcomed members to the meeting and then a minute’s silence was held for a long serving member who had passed away recently.
The speaker for the evening was Mandy Pool, the local dementia adviser who talked about Alzheimer’s disease. She went on to give a very informative explanation of how every person is affected differently and how many people can live normal lives for many years with the right support. Mrs Wingate gave the vote of thanks. After tea and the raffle, business was discussed by Mrs Alexander, including the new syllabus, and menus were given out for the 95th birthday party next month.
Competition results were: Holiday souvenir – 1 N Porteous; 2 D Curran; 3 M Cook; 4 N Scott.
Panscones – 1 M Cook; 2 A McGowan; 3 S Bertram; 4 P Martin.
