Mem­bers of Brown­hall SWI met for the first meet­ing of the new ses­sion.

Pres­i­dent Mrs Win­gate wel­comed mem­bers to the meet­ing and then a minute’s si­lence was held for a long serv­ing mem­ber who had passed away re­cently.

The speaker for the evening was Mandy Pool, the lo­cal de­men­tia ad­viser who talked about Alzheimer’s dis­ease. She went on to give a very in­for­ma­tive ex­pla­na­tion of how ev­ery per­son is af­fected dif­fer­ently and how many peo­ple can live nor­mal lives for many years with the right sup­port. Mrs Win­gate gave the vote of thanks. Af­ter tea and the raf­fle, busi­ness was dis­cussed by Mrs Alexan­der, in­clud­ing the new syl­labus, and menus were given out for the 95th birth­day party next month.
