Punk rock fans are be­ing given the chance to wit­ness a leg­end when Hugh Corn­well vis­its Dum­fries as part of his UK tour.

He was the song­writer and vo­cal­ist for punk/new wave band The Stran­glers for 16 years un­til 1990, when he left the band and launched a solo ca­reer.

He is re­leas­ing his lat­est solo al­bum,‘Mon­ster’, next month be­fore em­bark­ing on a UK tour which stops off at The Venue on Novem­ber 16.

The set on the night will in­clude some prime solo songs, plus picks from the lat­est al­bum, be­fore a se­lec­tion of those storm­ing and iconic hits in­clud­ing Golden Brown, No More Heroes and Peaches.

The gig gets un­der­way at 8pm, with tick­ets cost­ing £20 and are avail­able by tele­phon­ing 08444 780898.
