Dum­fries’ Rug­man’s Hall is host­ing a spe­cial event on Sun­day for this year’s Eu­ro­pean Days of Jew­ish Cul­ture.

Led by the Scot­tish Coun­cil of Jew­ish Com­mu­ni­ties, it in­vites Jew­ish and non-Jew­ish res­i­dents of all ages and walks of life, to get to­gether and re­call fond fam­ily me­mories and share sto­ries of their an­ces­try as part of the event from 2pm to 5pm.

His­tory en­thu­si­ast and award-win­ning au­thor of sev­eral nov­els, es­says and short sto­ries, Ellen Gal­ford, will be read­ing ex­cerpts from her works and will weave in her own per­sonal fam­ily sto­ries – bring­ing to life the rich her­itage of Jew­ish cul­ture through spo­ken word.

Fam­i­lies are in­vited to bring along old pho­to­graphs and fol­low­ing a break, where SCoJeC will be serv­ing a de­li­cious kosher buf­fet, Ellen will en­cour­age the au­di­ence to par­tic­i­pate in an op­tional story-shar­ing work­shop.
