A Lochmaben man accused of driving while unfit through drink or drugs has been remanded in custody for trial at Dumfries Sheriff Court.
Ian Henderson, 34, of Glebe Crescent, pleaded not guilty to committing the offence at Well Street in Dumfries at the weekend.
He also denied failing to provide a blood specimen at Dumfries Police Station.
Trial was set for next month.
■ A man is to face trial on a charge of behaving in a threatening manner and repeatedly striking the front door of a house and putting his ex-partner in a state of alarm.
Andrew Dobson, 25, of Verdun Square, Dumfries, pleaded not guilty at the town’s sheriff court to committing the offence and shouting and swearing and making offensive remarks at Broomlands in the town at the weekend. Trial was fixed for next month.
■ A motorist is to face trial on charges of failing to provide breath tests after being stopped on the A75.
Stephen Harris, 48, from Uddingston, pleaded not guilty to consent to a preliminary breath test at Crocketford and also failing to provide breath specimens at Dumfries Police Station at the weekend. Trial at Dumfries Sheriff Court has been set for February.
■ A man has been accused of assaulting his partner at the Holiday Inn in Dumfries at the weekend.
Thomas Archer, 52, from Belfast, pleaded not guilty to seizing her by the neck and holding her against a wall, head-butting her, compressing her neck and striking her head on a bag containing takeaway food.
He also denied shouting and swearing and acting aggressively towards her.
Trial at Dumfries Sheriff Court was set for January.
■ A 39-year-old man has been charged with sending offensive and menacing remarks to a woman on Facebook.
Scott Skilling, of Carrick Road, Dumfries, pleaded not guilty at the town’s sheriff court to committing the offence on October 21 and trial was set for February.
He also denied a further charge of behaving in a threatening manner at the weekend and repeatedly attending at a house at Holywood and repeatedly refusing to leave when asked by his ex-partner and shouting and swearing at her and her mother. Trial in that case was set for January.
