A Lochmaben man ac­cused of driv­ing while un­fit through drink or drugs has been re­manded in cus­tody for trial at Dum­fries Sher­iff Court.

Ian Hen­der­son, 34, of Glebe Cres­cent, pleaded not guilty to com­mit­ting the of­fence at Well Street in Dum­fries at the week­end.

He also de­nied fail­ing to pro­vide a blood spec­i­men at Dum­fries Po­lice Sta­tion.

Trial was set for next month.

■ A man is to face trial on a charge of be­hav­ing in a threat­en­ing man­ner and re­peat­edly strik­ing the front door of a house and putting his ex-part­ner in a state of alarm.

Andrew Dob­son, 25, of Ver­dun Square, Dum­fries, pleaded not guilty at the town’s sher­iff court to com­mit­ting the of­fence and shout­ing and swear­ing and mak­ing of­fen­sive re­marks at Broom­lands in the town at the week­end. Trial was fixed for next month.

■ A mo­torist is to face trial on charges of fail­ing to pro­vide breath tests af­ter be­ing stopped on the A75.

Stephen Har­ris, 48, from Ud­dingston, pleaded not guilty to con­sent to a pre­lim­i­nary breath test at Crock­et­ford and also fail­ing to pro­vide breath spec­i­mens at Dum­fries Po­lice Sta­tion at the week­end. Trial at Dum­fries Sher­iff Court has been set for Feb­ru­ary.

■ A man has been ac­cused of as­sault­ing his part­ner at the Holiday Inn in Dum­fries at the week­end.

Thomas Archer, 52, from Belfast, pleaded not guilty to seiz­ing her by the neck and hold­ing her against a wall, head-butting her, com­press­ing her neck and strik­ing her head on a bag con­tain­ing take­away food.

He also de­nied shout­ing and swear­ing and act­ing ag­gres­sively to­wards her.

Trial at Dum­fries Sher­iff Court was set for Jan­uary.

■ A 39-year-old man has been charged with send­ing of­fen­sive and men­ac­ing re­marks to a woman on Face­book.

Scott Skilling, of Car­rick Road, Dum­fries, pleaded not guilty at the town’s sher­iff court to com­mit­ting the of­fence on Oc­to­ber 21 and trial was set for Feb­ru­ary.

He also de­nied a fur­ther charge of be­hav­ing in a threat­en­ing man­ner at the week­end and re­peat­edly at­tend­ing at a house at Holy­wood and re­peat­edly re­fus­ing to leave when asked by his ex-part­ner and shout­ing and swear­ing at her and her mother. Trial in that case was set for Jan­uary.
