Fairer World Fair

Dumfries & Galloway Standard - - NEWS -

The 10th annual Fairer World Fair, organised by Dumfries Fairtrade Group, will be held tomorrow.

The popular event will take place in St George’s Church Hall, George Street, Dumfries, from 10am to 2pm.

Group chairman Rosemary Buwert said:“We have come a long way since the first Fairer World Fair in 2009, and we have a lot to celebrate.

“So many farmers and producers in developing countries have benefitted from Fairtrade, and it is wonderful to be part of such a life-changing, worldwide campaign.

“It’s also, of course a wonderful opportunity to make a start on your Christmas shopping, and you can be sure that the people behind the products have received fair payment for their work and produce.”

There will also be a display about the work of Wateraid and information about the campaign for promoting Fairtrade in the region.
