Voices will tell his story

Dumfries & Galloway Standard - - THE WEEKEND TICKET -

The experiences of a local family during the First World War will be told in an Armistice centenary commemoration at an Annan church tomorrow.

St Andrew’s members have researched the life of a man featured in one of the building’s stained glass windows.

The small group of actors and musicians in Voices will tell of Dr David W Sinclair, who lived in Johnstone Street and fought in the Great War.

They will use letters home to his mum during the poignant event, which will also feature music, images and poetry. It starts at 7pm.

Tom Langlands, one of the people behind Voices, said: “We singled out David Sinclair because it is such an interesting story.”

Some parishioners plan to visit his grave in Belgium next year.
