Young­ster plays the drum Boy ab­sorbs tips from oth­ers Young mu­si­cians from across the re­gion joined world cham­pion and award-win­ning adults for Feis The Mu­sic at Dum­fries The­atre Royal on Sun­day.

It proved a pop­u­lar cel­e­bra­tion of Gaelic and Scots songs and tunes from the south-west.

Feis The Mu­sic fea­tured Spec­trum, from An­nan, a pipes and chanters group, harp group, song group and bands.

Many have taken part in Feis work­shops on gui­tar, whis­tle, harp, Gaelic and Scots song, which have been held through­out the re­gion over the year.

Other young peo­ple who took part had at­tended the Youth Trad Fes­ti­val, Feis an lar Dheas, held at Lin­clu­den Pri­mary School last month, or­gan­ised by An­gela Pearcey and Wendy Ste­wart.

The event fin­ished with a grand fi­nale ren­di­tion of The Skye Boat Song. Woman plucks the strings of in­stru­ment
